OUR THERAPIST
CELYSA
Owner & Speech-Language Pathologist
Hi there! Meet the face behind Maria's House.
I am a nationally certified bilingual (English-Spanish) ASHA Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) and am currently licensed in the state of Texas. I received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Baylor University. With over 8 years of experience in the field of speech pathology, my job experience includes a variety of clinical settings including: private practice, public and private schools, and home health.
I practice evidence based, child led, play based, and family centered therapy during individualized 1:1 therapy sessions.
My special interests include: early intervention, speech sound disorders, preschool language development, late talking, feeding, and myofunctional therapy.
My mission for Maria’s House is to provide high quality compassionate care for the 6 months-10 years population in our office, daycare, preschool, or virtually via teletherapy. I hope to welcome you to Maria's House Therapy Services.
OUR APPROACH
Play-Based, Family Centered, and Child-Led
At Maria's House, we believe that speech therapy should be fun and engaging for children. Our play-based approach helps children feel comfortable and motivated to learn. We also involve families in the therapy process, providing them with the tools and strategies to support their child's speech and language development at home. Our child-led approach means that we follow each child's lead, building on their interests and strengths to help them reach their full potential. We are dedicated to providing personalized care to meet the unique needs of each child and their family.

Our goal is to make you feel at home while increasing your child's speech and language development.

OUR TRAININGS
INVESTING IN OUR FAMILIES
Here at Maria's House, Celysa takes it a step further. She has invested not only in herself but in her families by pursuing advanced trainings. She maintains her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and sought out additional trainings such as Tethered Oral Tissues Specialty Training (TOTS), the Sequential-Oral-Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding, and Feed the Peds (FTP): The Foundations of Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing.
